Where have the Horror Queens been?

Happy Tuesday, Horror Queens!

As you might have noticed, Rachel and I have not posted a new podcast for the last few weeks. Unfortunately, we will not be releasing a podcast this week either. The next available podcast will be on Sept. 10 Starting on the 10th we will be releasing podcasts on a bi-weekly basis. This may change in the future, and we will keep you posted if anything changes.

Why? For starters, Rachel and I are both up to our EYEBALLS in other responsibilities while also needing to have some down time from this project.

Rachel is the Maid of Honor in a wedding that is quickly approaching. She is trying to juggle all of those responsibilities on top of work and needs a short pause.

I am in a bit of a hectic point in my life as well – my first semester of nursing school starts in a few weeks and there are a lot of things that need to be completed before the scrubs and stethoscope are in my hands.

With that being said, we both agree that our primary goal with this project is to provide you with quality content that is both fun and informative. To do that, we both need to recharge our horror batteries a bit.

Our website went live with our first podcast earlier this summer, but our family and friends have been watching us work behind the scenes since November of 2020. Rachel had some background in sound editing, but beyond that, we had no clue what we were doing or how to even get started. After reading blog posts and consulting with friends that create other types of digital content, we embarked on the journey with all of its ups and downs. It has been a challenge at times, but we both adore this podcast and what we have created so far.

In the last 9 months we have only taken 3 weeks off since our initial brainstorming session. There are many audio files that will never see the light of day or need to be recorded again. These are mostly dry runs to help us find our rhythm, learn the best recording and editing techniques we could, and then test our content on friends and family. A lot of love has gone into Horror Queens, and we have grown a lot as content creators and podcasters over the last few months. We are excited to see where we go next.

We appreciate your understanding during this time and look forward to sharing our horror insights, theories, and a few dad jokes (much to Rachel’s disgust) with you as soon as we can. Here is a list of content that you can look forward to hearing soon.

·        Candyman (1992)

·        The Others (2001)

·        Sixth Sense (1999)

·        You’re Next (2011)

·        The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us along the way – we couldn’t have done this without you. And to everyone who has been listening and engaging with us over the last few months – you love you so much. You are why we keep watching these movies and researching these films.

Have a wonderful Tuesday, Horror Queens!

— Eric
